Job Description

Position Overview:

As the Regional Sales Manager in the Healthcare Group, you are responsible for driving sales growth, and profitability across assigned Asian territories. Reporting directly to the Senior General Manager of Solution Sales division, you will be accountable to translate strategic directives from Japan HQ, plan and execute regional strategic market development strategies to position Nikon’s brand in Healthcare Life Science (Microscope) and Eye Care segment.



Roles and Responsibilities:

Sales Strategy & Execution

  • Develop and implement short-term and long-term regional sales strategies which align with Japan HQ’s goals and direction.
  • Translate strategic directives and initiatives from Japan HQ into actionable local plans, ensuring alignment with each country’s business needs and headquarters’ objectives.
  • Define product mix and pricing strategies to maximize gross profit.
  • Lead market entry and product launch strategies in collaboration with other departments.
  • Develop and execute sales strategies for high-end microscopy systems.

Performance Management

  • Monitor and analyze sales performance against budget (monthly, quarterly, annually).
  • Prepare comprehensive variance analyses and propose strategies for improvement, communicating these insights effectively to Japan HQ.
  • Manage departmental budget and control operational expenses.

Team Leadership & Development

  • Mentor, supervise, and support sales department team members.
  • Plan and conduct training programs to enhance team capabilities.
  • Foster collaboration with other departments.

Customer & Partner Engagement

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, distributors, and dealers.
  • Lead tender negotiations, proposal preparation, and submission processes.
  • Ensure timely and effective customer support and satisfaction.

Market Intelligence & Reporting

  • Collect and analyze market trends, competitor activities, and customer needs.
  • Provide strategic insights and reports to Japan HQ for high-level decision-making.
  • Serve as a key liaison between subsidiaries, regional distributors and Japan HQ, translate complex market intelligence documents, strategic presentations, and reports to present to Japan HQ.
  • Interpret and convey feedback, product issues, and quality improvement suggestions from local teams to Japan HQ, and provide recommendation for improvement.
  • Other ad-hoc duties as assigned by management.


Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Life Sciences, or related field.
  • Minimum 7 years of regional sales and planning experience in Healthcare microscope industry with experience in launching new microscope products in Asia market.
  • Experience in implementing business strategy and translate Japan HQ’s directions, strategy and policies to apply to Asia regions.
  • Excellent communication skill is needed to present and communicate analysis, market findings and proposals to Japan HQ and all business stakeholders.
  • Proven leadership skills and ability to drive team performance.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Proven experience managing business relationships with distributors.
  • Willing to travel overseas
