Really yummy thunder tea rice. Light yet flavourful and there was just the right amount of chai po (pickled vegetables) in every bite. I’m not a fan of basil leaves (sadly, it’s a rather common ingredient in this dish) but was fine with the addition here. Soup was just the right consistency. The dish was $7.80 and costs $9.80 if you get a set that comes with a bottled herbal tea of choice (u.p. $2.50). Paynow and contactless payments accepted here. The wait at 1250pm was rather long with the lunch crowd. My order took about 15 minutes to be prepared.

Nice lei cha dishes! The soup is very tasty. Some feedback: pls try not to put the dirty dishes outside, definitely not where customers are sitting and super definitely not next to your clean bowls and plates. 🙏

The lei cha kolomee was tasty, especially the soup. However, the black vinegar trotter wasn’t anything like what was advertised. The ingredients were sparse for $10.80, and there was only 1 “trotter” in the soup. I liked the flavor but the picture in the menu is misleading.

Relatively newer eatery, taking over nomVnom. To my understanding, the menu is fully vegan (no egg, dairy, honey, vitamin D3). For religious vegetarians, the menu is also allium-free, but the Yellow Wine Mushroom Pot contains alcohol (housemade wine fermented from soybeans). Love their emphasis on whole-food plant-based dishes; it’s quite refreshing to eat Chinese dishes featuring fresh natural ingredients without mock meat! Menu has items such as double-boiled soups, leicha variations, homemade pumpkin rice and yam rice, etc. Enjoyed the tasty and wholesome items I ordered. Appreciated the more wallet-friendly price point too. Staff was friendly and I would honestly love to return soon! Connected to Tai Seng MRT.

Yummy soups that reminds us of childhood days, and are vegetarian.

Watercress soup and ABC soup are both tasty and full of flavor of the ingredients. However, Teochew nanru pot and mei cai with mushrooms are a bit too sweet to my liking. The longan and white fungus drink tastes great and natural.

Peace Vegetarian at 18 Tai Seng B1 (same floor with Fairprice) serves flavorful and satisfying plant-based dishes. I tried the Vegetarian Bak Kut Teh, Thunder Tea Fried Rice, and Yam Rice. The Bak Kut Teh was rich and comforting, with a well-balanced herbal broth and crispy you tiao on the side — a lovely traditional pairing. It was served in a claypot, which kept the herbal broth warm and added to its rustic presentation. It felt nourishing and full of depth. The Thunder Tea Fried Rice was a pleasant surprise. Unlike the traditional version that comes with soup poured over rice, this version was dry-fried and full of wok hei, with generous portions of chopped vegetables, nuts, and herbs that gave it a nice crunch and complexity. It's a great twist on a classic, and very satisfying. The Yam Rice was beautifully seasoned with five-spice and featured soft, tasty chunks of yam. The only downside was the portion size — smaller than expected and not very filling on its own. Overall, Peace Vegetarian is a great spot for quality vegetarian fare, with bold flavors and a comforting menu. Just be prepared for slightly smaller portions on some items.
